Uncovering Great Portuguese Brands – Swimwear Edition

Portugal’s swimwear scene blends color, creativity, and conscious design. Local brands offer vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable pieces for women, men, and kids, perfect for the beach or poolside, with a touch of Portuguese flair.

38 GRAUS

The brand’s goal is to empower women by designing bikinis and swimsuits that highlight the beauty of different female bodies. With unique patterns, models, and sizes, there is a myriad to choose from.
An important detail: Bikini parts (top and bottom) can be bought separately, allowing women to select different sizes to fit them perfectly.

Latitid

Latitid features a comprehensive selection of bikini and one-piece patterns and models throughout collections for women, teenagers girls, and kids. Founded by three friends from Porto, Latitid’s yearly launches are inspired by different cities like Barcelona, or Istambul. The brand also has activewear, beachwear, dresses, accessories, and more.

Cantê

Founded by friends Mariana Delgado and Rita Soares, Cantê is a very popular swimwear brand amongst Portuguese women. Besides being made with sustainable materials, it’s more resistant to agents like chlorine and salt water. Every year before summer, the brand launches exclusive designs with original patterns that can be purchased online and in some stores around the country. Mothers will also be happy to know there’s a collection where women’s and children’s swimsuits match together.

Molkot

Cantê has also released men’s swimwear under the brand Molkot. They have classic shorts, and collections especially designed for surfing, and kids. The patterns are creative and exclusive to Molkot. This is the perfect gift for a male family member, be it a father, a brother, a partner, or a son.

Naji

Naji is also about following the “slow fashion” concept. They prioritize reutilized materials to deliver high-quality products that respect different female shapes. There are many different colors and designs to choose from, so be sure to check their latest models.

Conscious the Label

Their vision is in the name: they aim to produce cool swimsuits in a conscious manner. Their one-piece and bikini sets are made with recycled fabrics – econyl – from ocean waste plastic. The products are manufactured right here in Lisbon, and the founders’ vision is to, one day, get the Conscious the Label pieces to be recycled into new and shiny ones.

DCK

This is a classic amongst Portuguese men. There are many different models to choose from; some are recommended for water sports, and others for a more relaxed vibe. They also have matching shorts for fathers and sons. Cute, right?
There are several stores in Lisbon and Porto. Founded in 2009, the aim was to bring innovative patterns and new models to a market offering very few choices.
