Lisbon is best enjoyed slowly, and no one knows that better than Inês Belém, our Ando Living Houses Coordinator. From hidden gems to iconic locations, Inês shares her favourite spots across the city.

Your favorite bar in town?
Javá is one of the best places to have a drink at the end of the day.
The rooftop has the best view of the city.
The one shop or market in Lisbon we absolutely shouldn’t miss?
Cerâmicas na Linha in Chiado for local ceramics.
The best viewpoint in Lisbon?
Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol Viewpoints have the best views of Lisbon.
A hidden gem restaurant only locals know about?
Merendinha do Arco is a very small Portuguese tasca that has the best codfish pataniscas.
As someone working on hospitality what is the thing our guests shouldn’t miss?
I would say to take time to wander through the streets of Alfama, listen to Fado echoing from a tiny restaurant, catch the sunset by the river, and definitely try a pastel de nata fresh out of the oven.
Lisbon is a small city, there is no need to rush. Slow down, enjoy the little things… like a coffee at a local café and the warmth of our people.
I’m sure you will have an unforgettable experience.
